IPL 2023 Match 4 : Rajasthan Royals Won by 72 Runs Against Sunrisers Hyderabad

In fourth match of the 16th Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Wankhede Stadium. Sanju Samson led RR while Bhuvneshwar Kumar managed SRH. In this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Rajasthan Royals began their IPL 2023 campaign with a massive victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. They posted a total of 203 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs, the highest score of the season so far. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad could only manage to score 131 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs, losing the match by 72 runs.

Rajasthan Royals put up an explosive batting performance, thanks to Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson. Buttler smashed 54 runs off 22 balls with three sky sixes and seven fours, Jaiswal scored 54 off 37 balls with nine fours, and Samson scored 55 off 32 balls with four sky sixes and three fours.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Failed Batting

Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to chase down the target and could only manage to score 131 runs in their 20 overs. Mayank Agarwal and Abdul Samad tried to stabilize the innings by scoring 27 and 32 runs, respectively, but could not prevent the team from facing a crushing defeat.

Deadly Bowling by Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers put up a deadly bowling performance to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad from achieving the target. Yuzvendra Chahal was the star bowler, taking four wickets for 17 runs in four overs. Trent Boult took two wickets for 21 runs in four overs, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Jason Holder took one wicket each.
