IPL 2024 : The 17th season of the Indian Premier League is going to start on 22 March 2024. BCCI has already released the schedule of IPL. According to this schedule, the first phase of 21 matches is to be played till May 7.

The program of the second phase will be announced only after the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates. Bad news has come for Chennai Super Kings captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Chennai’s opening batsman and New Zealand’s leading player Devon Conway has been out of the team for a long time due to injury. His left thumb was injured during an international match.
Conway will have to undergo surgery to recover from this injury. Because of this, it has become difficult for him to play for at least half the season. After becoming fit after this surgery, he can join the team after half the season.

Conway suffered a thumb injury during the recent T20 series against Australia. During this series, she became a victim of injury while keeping wickets. Conway could not play in the recent two-Test series between Australia and New Zealand due to injury. According to the news report, his injury is more serious, hence he has been ruled out of the second test match also.
Giving an update on Conway’s surgery, the New Zealand Cricket Board has said that “Opening batsman Conway will undergo surgery on his left thumb which was damaged during the KFC T20 series against Australia this week. “Following multiple scans and expert advice, the decision has been made to operate on Conway with a potential recovery period of at least eight weeks.”
