There are many players around the world who stay away from professional cricket for years due to injuries. Meanwhile, Australia’s star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has also been ruled out of Australia’s three-match T20 series against New Zealand due to a back problem.

This brave player got a chance

The Australian team has to tour New Zealand for a three-match T20 series this month. But due to this injury, Marcus Stoinis will not be able to go on New Zealand tour. The Australian board has given a chance to star all-rounder Aaron Hardy in the team to fill his place.

The first match of this series will be played in Wellington on 21 February. While the second T20 match will be played on 23 February and the third T20 match will be played on 25 February, both these matches will be played in Auckland only.

How did Marcus Stoinis get injured?

Marcus Stoinis was a part of the T20 series against New Zealand, but before that Stoinis had some back problem. Stoinis suffered a back injury during the second T20 match against West Indies in Adelaide last Sunday. But instead of taking rest, he still continued playing.

In this series, he played an inning of 16 runs in 15 balls and while maintaining his excellent bowling record, he also took 3 wickets for 36 runs. He contributed to an 80-run partnership with Glenn Maxwell in this match. Due to a back complaint, he was out of the third match against West Indies.

Matthew Wade also out of this series

Australian team’s vice-captain and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade will also not be able to play the first T20 match of this series. He wants to spend time with his family due to the birth of his third child. He will be available for the last two matches to be held in Auckland.

Aaron Hardie has a chance to change his luck

Australia’s star all-rounder Aaron Hardie is currently playing for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania in Hobart.

With his stellar performance in this series, Aaron Hardie will have a chance to stake his claim as a backup all-rounder for the T20 World Cup. Aaron Hardie can bat in the middle order in place of injured Stoinis.
