The Indian Cricket Board has taken a big decision to promote women’s cricket. The Indian Cricket Board has organized a multi-day women’s tournament. This tournament will be played in Pune from March 29 after the Women’s Premium League. A total of 6 zone teams will play in this competition, which include teams representing East Zone, West Zone, North Zone, South Zone, Central Zone and North East Zone.
The competition is set to begin with two quarter-finals. In which two quarter-finals will be played simultaneously on 29, 30 and 31 March. After this there will be a semi-final round. These semi-final matches are likely to be played on 5, 6 and 7 April.
Finally, the grand finals of the tournament will be held on April 9, 10 and 11. However, the identities of the two teams that will advance directly to the semi-finals are currently unknown.
BCCI took a big decision
This tournament will be like a test for women’s cricket. The three-day tournament promises to be an important test for both the star women players and the BCCI. After this tournament, BCCI will decide how far women players can go in domestic cricket. The Indian Cricket Board is giving a lot of importance to the men’s Ranji Trophy. Meanwhile, Indian Cricket Board wants to do the same for women players also.
BCCI has been successfully encouraging its players to participate in domestic events. Indian women players have played some test matches recently. BCCI wants Red Bowl Cricket to provide a domestic platform for women’s cricket as well, so that its Indian team can progress in Test cricket as well.
